Tim Widing is testament to how quickly a pro golfer’s career can change. Every week, someone’s dreams come true. It’s what we love about the game.
After winning back-to-back events on the Korn Ferry Tour, the Straight Down ambassador is all but ensured of playing the PGA Tour for the first time in 2025. Widing is the first player to win two titles on the Korn Ferry Tour – golf’s version of Triple A baseball – this season.
Widing, 26, didn’t rest after winning his first title in Florida on April 21. Instead, he authored a record-setting performance in Texas, winning by four strokes.
He broke the Korn Ferry Tour record for the lowest 72-hole score in relation to par. Widing’s total score of 253 marked the second-lowest 72-hole score in Korn Ferry Tour history. He became the 13th player in Korn Ferry Tour history to win back-to-back events and also set the tour’s record for most birdies in a 72-hole event.
“(The) PGA Tour has always been a dream since I started playing golf,” Widing told pgatour.com. “We’re not there yet, so I’m still trying to play good this year and still work on the things me and my team have been doing over the last couple months. It’s easy to kind of look ahead, but I’m just trying to be here right now and enjoy this moment, see wherever it takes me.”
Widing is originally from Sweden but came to the United States to play golf at the University of San Francisco. We got to know Tim when he moved to San Luis Obispo after college and have been impressed with his game, his character and his work ethic. We are excited to be part of his journey and to see him continue to progress in his professional golf caree!
